1、 Current density too high
When the current density is too high during electroplating, the metal ions on the electrode surface will be electrochemically reduced to metal ions, which will accumulate on the electrode surface and deposit, forming a thick chromium layer, etc. Therefore, in electroplating treatment, the current density should be adjusted according to factors such as plating solution temperature, electrode material, solution ratio, voltage and current to control the plating thickness.

2、 The electrolyte formula is not suitable
Electrolytes of different materials have different chemical composition and composition ratios. If the ratio is not appropriate, it may cause the deposited metal to thicken and even saturate. For example, if the concentration of certain ions in the electrolyte is too high, they may accumulate too much on the electrode surface during electroplating, resulting in the formation of excessively thick coatings and other phenomena.

3、 Small electrode surface area
If the electrode surface area is small during electroplating, metal ions in the electrolyte will accumulate on the smaller electrode surface, which will cause excessive deposition of metal ions and result in a thicker thickness. Therefore, in electroplating treatment, it is important to choose the appropriate electrode size.

4、 Solution temperature too high
A high solution temperature can easily cause the electrolyte to contain a lot of ions, leading to a faster deposition rate of metals, resulting in excessively thick coatings and even bubbling. Therefore, during electroplating processing, it is necessary to strictly control the solution temperature, especially for materials suitable for high-temperature electroplating.

The above are some reasons that lead to thicker electroplating thickness. Understanding these reasons can help us better carry out electroplating processing and avoid unnecessary troubles. Of course, in electroplating processing, it is also necessary to pay attention to some other factors, such as electrode material selection, electrolyte stability, electroplating time, etc., to ensure stable electroplating effect and excellent quality.
