You might be looking to buy LED video walls, but before you invest, there are a few questions that need to be answered before you make your final decision. Is it the right kind of product for your event? What will it actually look like? How many projectors and screens do you need? These are just a few of the questions you should ask yourself before making any purchases, and luckily for you, we’ve got answers to each one! Get your answers here!
How often will the screen be used?
LED screens are a great addition to any event, but they are not without their limitations. One of the most important things to consider when investing in an LED screen is how often it will be used and how big you want it to be. For example, a small school might use their screen for sporting events twice a week for about an hour each time. In this case, the school could probably get away with renting one or two smaller screens (or maybe even just one) on the weekends from a provider like us. If your organization needs to project content onto your screen more than once every week, then you will need to invest in some form of equipment that can handle that type of frequency and duration.
What is the budget for the project?
The budget that you are willing to spend on your new project is the number one factor in determining what type of display you’ll buy. Of course, there are many other factors that go into the decision but without a budget, you’re going nowhere. This can seem like an overwhelming task because it’s difficult to know how much something will cost without having any idea of what it is or what you’re looking for. The good news is that we’ve been working with customers to help them find their perfect solution for over 20 years, so we have a ton of experience and expertise when it comes to figuring out budgets. That being said, there are a few considerations that need to be taken into account when thinking about your budget:
* What size do I want?
Is there a preferred brand or model of LED video wall?
LED Video Wall Rentals is an industry leader in event technologies and when it comes to LED video walls, we have the expertise to help you choose the perfect one for your event. There are many factors that come into play when choosing a LED wall. Here are a few questions you can ask yourself or those who will be managing the equipment:
- What size of screen do I need for my space? — How much does it weigh? — Do I need to bring anything with me when setting up the equipment? — Do I need specialty hardware to mount this in my venue space? — What type of installation is required by my venue (are they high ceilings)? — What’s the recommended hanging height above seating level for a viewer’s optimal viewing experience?
What is the size of the area where the screen will be installed?
You need to determine the size of your desired screen. This will determine the size of your projector, as well as the number and type of projectors you need for a full-screen image.
You also need to make sure that you have enough distance between your screen and any audience members. A typical viewing distance is 2–3 times the height of the projected image, or 10–12 feet from a 100 display.
LED screens are available in various shapes and sizes.
What type of power source will be used for the screen?
LED video walls come with a few different options. Depending on the needs of your project, you will need to decide which one best suits your needs. Maintenance is required for all screens, but varies depending on the type of screen. Here are some things to consider when purchasing an LED video wall:
* The size of the screen and how it is configured
* The type of connection the screen has (HDMI, VGA, etc.)
* What kind of content you plan on showing on the screen (static or moving) * Whether or not you want input from external devices like microphones or cameras
What are the shipping and installation requirements for the project?
Video wall projectors come in a variety of sizes, including single panel to multiple panels. The number of panels needed will depend on the size of the screen desired. For smaller screens, you can use one or two panels and for larger screens, four or more panels are typically required. We recommend using at least one extra panel to account for any dead pixels that might exist on the projector or any other unforeseen circumstances that might arise during installation.
The video wall is made up of individual projectors which are connected together with a long cable and mount system to produce a seamless image across all the screens.
How will the screen be controlled during use?
LED video wall screens are controlled by a computer and can be programmed to display specific content in order to create a more engaging experience. There are two types of displays, interactive and non-interactive. Interactive displays have software that the user can upload content onto the screen, which is then displayed on the screen for everyone to see. Non-interactive displays allow for pre-programmed videos or images that cannot be changed by an outside party.
What type of maintenance will be required for the screen?
LED screens are a sophisticated and economical way to entertain your guests and clients. They can also be a great way to make an event feel more grandiose. But, with any new purchase, there are always a few questions that need to be answered. One of the most important is: How much maintenance will I have to do after the event ends? There is no such thing as set it and forget it when you own one of these pieces of equipment.
Constructing and installing a video wall takes several steps.
First, talk to a professional installer like American Sound. Video walls require specific things in place to maximize space and effectiveness.
Visit the site. Once you choose an installer and talk to them, it’s time to visit the site. While there, your company will take measurements and audit the infrastructure you have in place (like power lines and conduits) as well as the strength of the wall.
Order your video wall equipment. Installers will order your video wall equipment, customized to your needs.
In a few weeks, installers will come to your facility and install the video wall, make all of the connections, and install the software on a computer while teaching you how to change the settings on the visual presentation.
Enjoy your brand-new, state-of-the-art video wall!
If you have any questions or comments, your chosen installer should have robust customer support and service after the installation. These things should be included in your package.
